Most so-called online tools send your files to a server, process them there, and send them back. Pixasur flips that: the compressor and the background remover both run locally in your browser. The only time anything is uploaded is when you press Refine on the background remover, and it says so right on the button.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

Are my images uploaded to a server?
Not by default. Both tools do their work inside your browser, so compressing an image or removing its background sends nothing over the network. The single exception is the optional Refine button on the Background Remover: click it and that one photo is sent to our server for a sharper HD cutout, then discarded. It only happens when you ask for it.
Is Pixasur really free?
Yes. There is no account, no subscription, no watermark, and no trial that runs out. Open a tool and use it.
What tools are available right now?
An image compressor that also converts and resizes JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and GIF, and an AI background remover that outputs transparent PNGs. More image tools are on the way.
Do the tools work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Everything runs in the browser, so the tools work on iPhone, Android, and iPad as well as desktop. Heavier jobs like AI background removal simply take a little longer on older phones.
Are there limits on file size or how many images I can process?
The compressor has no limits at all. The background remover accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 10 MB per image, and you can queue as many as you like.
